The premise of the book is promising, as is a good bit of the story. But the characters themselves kill the entire thing. Truthfully I kept hoping Susan would get offed just so I didn't have to listen to her any more. The first half of the book was decently written and tight... the second half felt like it was written by an entirely different person, someone much younger with a much smaller grasp of basic grammar and vocabulary. There's also no real explanation given for Mama's Boy and the things he does. You get a hint, but nothing that is confirmed.
I managed to finish it, but I will be leery of picking something up from this author again.
