I've been skeptical of LBP games since the original creators stopped producing. This concept of karting, however, did catch my eye, being a Mario Kart fan since childhood.
Keeping up with their video blogs, I have been anticipating this game for months now.
I bought this game the day it came out, and my wife and I have been playing every day. It is very consistent with the first two LBP games even though it's not even made by Media Molecule. The controls, gameplay, and life instilled in Sackboy are all there.
The karting itself delivers. You have weapons that not only allow you to attack, but they all act as defense as well, whereas in MarioKart you're worried about getting attacked almost 24/7. In this game, there is a fine balance between defense and offense while on the track.
Multiplayer local wasn't what I had expected. A lot of it is limited to just 2-player. It's very rare that you can play 3-4 players on a track for the INITIAL race, and if you can then you can't unlock any goodies or secrets. Once you complete the story mode tracks, then you can play them as 3-4 people multiplayer.
Multiplayer online is limited to just 2-players (or so it seems at all the tracks I've tried).
Creativity as always, is one of the strong points. Though I'm still yet to create my own tracks, I have created my own sackboy, kart, engine, etc.
Overall, if you're a fan of karting games, LBP, and/or creative, this game will satisfy to say the LEAST. This game will be half price on Black Friday at local retailers not sure about Amazon though.
