We've tried the glue traps, and while I still swear they are the best thing to use if you have a mouse problem that is somewhat limited in scale and you want to save some money. If you are out in the country like I am and the stream of mice is seemingly endless, then the rat zapper is the way to go. We have baited with peanuts (dry roasted) and ritz crackers, it seems the peanuts work the best. Most problems seem to be caused by the mice tracking in dirt or sand which insulates the feet from the metal plates that delivery the shock. Ours has been going strong for about 4 weeks now, killing at least one mouse every 24 hours. Seems like most people's complaints about the zapper are that it is not weather proof, ours is under the house so this isn't a problem.
