This is Créole Zydeco music, recorded live in a saloon and dance hall, with an Afro flavor; indeed, guest artist Morikeba Kouyate plays kora with the band on three tracks, including the final jam. The beat is strong, with fiddle, guitar, bass, accordion, and drums. Two-steps and waltz-steps are included, in additional to blues. This music is for dancing, and the listener cannot remain on a chair long. The happy spirit of the crowd is shared. No liner notes are included; thus I do not know anything about Cedric Watson and the band Buou Créole, except their presented talent and musicianship. That is sufficient. I want to hear more! This is an excellent, fun album.
