As an FRC team, we bought one of these just to try them. We were really disappointed in the build quality and actually have a hard time believing this would stand up to the competition. The build quality of these is really poor. The case is very poorly 3D printed (instead of molded), and doesn't fit together well. At first we thought we had received a prototype by mistake, but that is actually how they are made.

Since we were already concerned about the quality we opened the case and found that many of the components on the inside look to be hand soldered or of poor quality.

I can't recommend anyone use these for FRC or otherwise, and am actually confused at how FIRST allowed these to be a legal alternative. I suggest teams choose one of the other legal motor controllers (Victor, Spark or Talon) which we also tested and had no issues with.
