This book is a collection of several stories (the book abstract above says only two stories, but this is not correct) recounting favorite adventures of Thomas and his friends on the island of Sodor. The stories are not all about Thomas, though, which makes for a fresh look at the characters on the island.
Each story is based on an episode from the TV series, and each page is illustrated with a relevant scene. The stories are interesting and fun, though some parents may feel a bit uneasy about some of the language in the book. There is one word in particular that could have just as well been spelled "snickered", but uses another spelling that may be considered offensive.
The book is great as a bedtime story book, if you don't mind reading a few stories. For kids just learning to read, though, this book presents some challenges because the typeface is small and the word count is high. For those children who are reader-level and enjoy Thomas, this book makes for a great addition to the bookshelf. The hardcover and glossy pages make it a very attractive and durable book.
