Great Collection of Short Stories,
This review is from: Error Message Eyes: A Programmer's Guide to the Digital Soul (Paperback)
K. Graham has written a great collection of short stories. Perhaps it's unfair to just look at this fine collection of short stories from a science fiction point of view and if fact it would be limiting to say the least. These stories concern themselves with the human drama. In one story a man and woman find themselves spinning around the moon victims of an explosion at a job site. As they cling to each other they wrestle with the problem of finding a solution to their problem. We, however, are also witness to their growing intimacy. In another a father seeks comfort and solitude in a world polluted with constant visual and noise stimulation. There is a beautifully written story of a man who is disparate to earn enough money to marry his girlfriend "with the beautiful eyes". A drug addict has set a trap for motorists on a dark rainy night along an interstate highway. All these stories reflect our best and worst characteristics. In all the stories science or technology plays a factor directly or indirectly in the telling of the tales. I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to his next.
