This definitely felt like a first novel. The overall concept was ok, but the story went on much too long. There was a decent mix of narrative and dialogue, but the dialogue often seemed goofy. There were way too many odd flashback moments (apparently the author was trying to develop the characters based on past experience, but they didn't flow well) and also random overly descriptive scenes that added absolutely nothing to the storyline (I felt like the author had an idea that seemed funny, and then she was determined to fit it in, like the man in the yellow shirt on the airplane). Thankfully the book wasn't full of spelling/grammar issues, or it would have been a 1 star book.
