The tag line on the back of the book bills it as "a return to the traditional social mores of the Fifties." Since I only know that era from old movies and TV shows, maybe that's what I kind of liked about "Enemies & Allies." Author Kevin Anderson links in a lot of events from that Cold War era and interweaves a pretty good exchange between Kal-El (the Man of Steel) and Bruce (Batman) Wayne to boot. I felt Lois Lane's character was a little too tight laced. But other than that, it presents an interesting story and gives you a real feeling of the George Reeves Superman era.
