This review is from: Red Is for Remembrance (Stolarz Series) (Paperback)
The only two books I read in this series are this one and Silver. I absolutely ADORED Silver and I stayed up till the wee hours of morning finishing it because I could not put it down. It had THAT much excitement in the story. Red, however, wasn't what I thought it would be.
WARNING: If you did not read the book, don't read ahead because I talk about the ending.
OK, now I know that Jacob had amnesia and everything, but he did know that that was his soul mate. And I know that Stacey felt awkward, but I think she would have reacted differently to seeing the love of her life again after not seeing him for almost 5 months (which doesn't make sense, because at the end of Silver, it said she was postponing going to college that September, so she really would have been going a YEAR after Jacob dissappeared and she would have been 19 not 18. But whatever). And also, I don't think that there was much of a mystery in this book. It was definatly longer than Silver but it seemed shorter and it didn't have the same feeling as in Silver. I mean, everyone knew that Shell was Jacob. And everyone figured out he had amnesia. I also wish they could've talked more about the camp but oh well.I did thoroughly enjoy this book but it does not top Silver. I think it was rushed. It looks as if Red took 6 months but Silver took about...8? Something along the lines of that. I'm sure fans of this series would be more than willing to wait a while for something as good as Silver. I hope that Stolarz continues to write this series, maybe involving another character having nightmares, not just the regular ones, maybe like Amber or Drea? Or PJ or Chad? The list could go on and on.
