A comforter with sleeves.,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Columbia Women's Benton Springs Hoodie Jacket (Apparel)
I decided to update my winter wardrobe. I stumbled upon a great many columbia brand clothing, which include: Columbia's Bugaboo Tech II Ski Pant, Kaleidaslope II Jacket, and this Benton Springs Hoodie.
First off this hoodie is sooo soft. It's like wearing a comforter blanket. I bought the xl because I am 6 foot tall and weigh 163-165. Slim but slightly athletic build. It's very roomy but not terribly baggy. But I see this as a plus, meaning I can wear a base line and sweater and not be constricted in my movement or comfort.
The hood itself is very roomy and not constrictive to normal rotation of the head and neck. Very warm but high wind will eventually get in. The neck guard zips up slightly below my chin and is a nice insulation feature in combination with the hood or can be used alone.
The nylon draw string is effective in sizing the bottom of the hoodie. But in my experience, is the first thing that usually breaks. However for now it works perfect.
The sleeve length is generous. In cold weather it will be very effective. In doors I probably will be pushing them up a little.
Two pockets inside are very roomy and I guess average for keys or spare gloves in terms of holding power.
I can see it eventually collecting lint and possibly wearing thin or the thread becoming worn under the arms due to contact. But with proper care, I imagine this hoodie will make it through a couple of fall and winter seasons.

Are the sleeves long enough for you? I'm 5'11" and a few of the columbia jackets I've tried have been too short (both in the sleeves and just length in general), while others have been fine, so I'm just curious :)

Kathryn G. Brooke says:
Yes they are long enough. I have lengthy average arms. The fit from the shoulder to the wrist is baggy enough to allow free nonconstructive movement. I have worn this hoodie several times while performing warehouse duties and have never had a problem with lack of coverage nor tightness in the arms. I wore this with a mid-weight wool base layer and was quite warm and comfortable.
