I originally bought one of these in late 2006 and was very happy using it daily until last week when the housing surrounding the spray nozzle somehow cracked and broke apart. I guess years of being heated and cooled made the plastic brittle, and while the unit still technically functions, it's unusable because the basket can't be slid onto it anymore. I replaced it with a new one, and while it's made identically, I noticed it's now made in China whereas the old one was made in Canada. The plastic around the spray nozzle is now shaped differently and the head is no longer removeable, but otherwise it's more or less the same. My only real complaint is about the new carafe-it looks the same, but the glass is not Schott Duran like the old one. Also, the spout is shaped differently which causes a dribbling effect if it's not poured at a specific speed. Thankfully I can just keep using the older one which works great. The price was about the same as it was in 2006, but I guess Bunn has made some changes to keep the price consistent. The unit still makes good coffee, but I'm a bit worried about how the cuts in quality will affect its lifespan.
