i'm a commercial electrician who does alot of walking and was looking for something lighter and more comfortable than your typical boot. i found these and bought them. they are the most comfortable work shoes i have worn. i would have given them 5 stars but for the price they didn't last as long as i would have liked. after a year they really started to fall apart i managed to get another 6 months out of them but they now have big holes in the sides where the steel toe stops. the soles are holding up nicely though. all things considered i will buy another pair because they were so comfortable.

A year? That's a long time in my opinion.

Agreed. Especially if they were worn every day for work. I do pools and wear holes in my soles of my cheap $40 shoes within 4-6 months and they aint super comfy or steel toed.

Quality has dropped over the last few decades. Shoes used to last me two to four years, even when worn every day. Now, I'm lucky to get a year out of anything I wear regularly, with the notable exception of cowboy boots. Soles are softer nowadays, because they are *designed* to wear out (so you'll go back and buy a replacement sooner). It is unethical, but that's the way most businesses think now.

Nick, thank you for your review. I bought these mostly thanks to your review and cannot be happier. Like you, I am commercial electrician and these proved to be great for a lot of walking, climbing up and down the ladder all day.
