This review is from: Equal Rites: A Novel of Discworld (Kindle Edition)
I found this book quite enjoyable. Things never quite went in the direction I was expecting, but it also never felt forced or anything like that.
It was fun to read about the first female wizard. I liked that there were both pluses and minuses to being the first at something. She couldn't fit into the normal way of wizarding because she broke the mold, which was a difficulty, but she also was able to set her own rules, which was cool.
Also worthy of note, even though this was the third discworld book, I really didn't see any reason that you would have to have read the first 2 for this to make sense. But, I liked the first 2 a lot, and doubtlessly there were some things where I had the background, making this book even better.
