5.0 out of 5 stars Must Use Protected 18650 Li-Ion Batteries, December 15, 2012
By
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Amazon product description DOES NOT specify you need to use the 'longer' protected 18650 w/PCB Li-Ion batteries (~68mm vs ~65mm long). It does have the built-in charger, so you might just need to buy the four batteries.

Confirmed to fit: EagleTac 3100mAh Protected Li-ion 18650 Rechargeable Battery (1 x 18650)

EagleTac uses the Panasonic 18650 cells. It's right on there web site.
What they don't specify is what protection circuit they use, like Orbtronic does.

Orbtronic uses the Panasonic 18650 cells for there batteries to, they also specify they use a protection circuit made by Seiko, which is very high quality.

If I had to guess, I'd also say EagleTac uses the same Seiko protection circuit.

RE: Nitecore Sysmax Intellicharge i4 version 2, Four Bays universal home/in-car battery charger, Four Nitecore 18650 NL188 3100mAh rechargeable batteries with Smith & Wesson Carabeamer LED Clip Light

Let's make it easy--get the Nitecore NL188 batteries (multiple listings for this product with and w/out chargers). They are the correct length and are rated for 'high discharge' which is perfect for this flash-light.
