This review is from: 50LB PISTOL CROSSBOW (Misc.)
This 50-LB Pistol Crossbow is not really worth the expense or frustration that it will bring you. I had high hopes when assembling the crossbow since the actual body of the crossbow is not really that bad, but once you put on the metal bow arm the trouble starts. There are no guides, so getting the bow arm positioned correctly is trial and error (I suggest using a ruler). Finally, stringing the bow also gave me hope since it really is a two person job to bend the bow enough to get the string mounted.
Using the crossbow is fairly straight forward once it is assembled, just cock the bow by drawing back on the handle until the string engages the retention notch, turn on the safety, and inset a bolt. To fire the crossbow, aim the bow, turn off the safety, and pull the trigger. This is where the disappointment will likely set in...
The max range is about 45 yards and the accuracy can best be described as point and pray, since using the sight doesn't seem to really help all that much (I am an experienced shooter so understand sight picture and trigger control). Testing with 6 bolts, they landed roughly in a 12 yard span to either side of the central aim point. After a few dozen attempts, I realized that this really is just a dangerous toy.
