I purchased Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010 and also now have the 2011 upgrade. My advice is don't buy these products. First of all, Kaspersky doesn't work well out of the box. There are problems of function and design. I found that the program often does not delete infected files when it is supposed to (i.e. when you choose delete upon the program's recommendation). Also, the software often does not respond when you try to use the controls to fix problems. Kaspersky's performance is also much too slow. Too much time is taken between threat detection and resolution, if the problem is actually resolved. On larger disks with numerous infections, the program stalls and eats up memory. Among the design problems are the lack of granular control over the software, compared to other products. Also, you can't exclude areas you don't want to scan, a necessary feature for programmers. It is hard to cancel a scan, the program hangs eating memory and processor. I would not install this program in a corporate or home office environment, code shop or on mission critical machines. In my 17 years of experience with A/V software Kaspersky is the worst investment I have ever made. Judging by the customer service complaints Kaspersky does not deliver in that arena either. Fortunately I have not personal experience with this issue. My take on this product it is poorly programmed and maintained and is a total waste of money.
