Better than I expected, given previous reviews. Fit well, great wind/cold protection with proper undergarments!,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this for a trip to Iceland in the spring and loved it. I'm a size 4, 5'7, and wore thermals and jeans underneath. I worried they fit slightly snug when I first put them on but they were very comfortable hiking in and driving in for hours on end. I was perfectly warm (at least on the bottom half!) when it was raining and blowing like crazy.
I didn't think they were loud at all - perhaps most people who thought so haven't worn waterproof pants before. They weren't noiseless when you walk, but I didn't notice the sound until I thought to pay attention to see if it was loud. GREAT price for this sort of thing, from what I've looked up.
I didn't miss a pocket too much because it's unusual to need these and not have a waterproof jacket as well (which will always have multiple pockets anyway).

I'm also 5'7" and I usually get 34" or 35" length jeans. Did you think these pants were long enough? Thanks!

Hi! I'm a bit ashamed to say that I have no idea what length my jeans usually are, but I measured and these smalls are: inseam (crotch to floor): 30.5 and outside length: 41ish. They were a great length for me with hiking boots.

Hi, Chelsa. My name is Larissa. I also wear a size 4 (at the lowest) in jeans and a size 7 or 8 (at the highest). (Different sizes depending on different brands of pants.) My height is also 5'7, however Im considered underweight for my height. I weight at most 113 or 115 lbs.
I was wondering what your weight is/was when you purchased the size Small, Columbia water resistant pants.????
I'm just trying to figure out whether to purchase the X-Small or Small pants..
I also like to be able to wear layers underneath these pants like you mentioned. My sequence of dressing for cold weather: thick tights/leggings, jeans, & then the Columbia pants...(I have to wear a lot of tight-fitting clothing underneath to keep me warm, since I don't have any 'meat on my bones' persay.)
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Larissa! Good question. I was about 130. For you, I would definitely suggest going for the XS size even with what you mentioned you'd layer on, but they may be slightly high at the bottom. I was wearing hefty hiking boots with the small size, and the pants were at just the right length. I don't know if XS is just smaller in the leg/waist or also shorter. It looks like they have free returns for some sizes, though...
