Mad Men is undoubtedly one of the most popular and critically acclaimed TV shows around at the moment. And whether you like the show because of the characters and drama, or because of the period setting and attention to detail, this is the book for you!
I'd never bought a guide to a TV show before, but this Mad Men Mixer was a wise choice. It's a really exceptional guide to the series: full of information and detail but never seeming too dry or dense. Every time I dipped into the book, I found myself reading on and on and on.
Overall, this is a fun and informative guide to one of TV's biggest shows, and I'd say it helped me appreciate the episodes even more. It's really well researched and well written. I was worried in case it just regurgitated the plot of the episodes, but it's not like that at all. It also picks up fascinating things from the background, stuff you might not have noticed without having it pointed out to you. I knew there was a lot of detail in this show, but now I'm just in awe of the whole production.
Can't wait for further volumes about other TV shows as well! Hope this becomes a regular series of guides.
