Very disappoining. Not nearly as good as past works.,
This review is from: All Things Bright And Beautiful (MP3 Music)
I am a fan of Owl City's past albums and was excited to hear that they'd be coming out with another. However up on listening to the songs I was very disappointed. The only two songs I liked upon listening was "The Real World", "Deer in the Headlights". Also I found a version of "Alligator Sky" WITHOUT the rapper in it which I liked. However after I listened to these songs more than a few times I found myself disliking them. I realized that the lyrics and music seemed very artificial and bland. Like a teeny bopper band song- there's just no depth to these songs and they're very repetitive. As much as I liked their past works, me liking the band couldn't save these new songs for me. I personally think they're trying too hard to have hit songs, and that's what lead to this.
All of the OTHER songs I did not like at all from the start. There were some melodies (like in "Dreams Don't Turn to Dust") that I actually found annoying. "Honey and the Bee" would have been good, but with the how nasal the woman singing was it was just annoying. Also they decided to try speaking/screaming certian words and phrases and songs and it sounds AWFUL. Completely ruins what potential the songs may have had.
I'd listen to the songs on YouTube or a streaming site before you purchase this album, as you may also find that this album is just a disappointment compared to Owl City's past works.

Considering the fact that you don't even know that Owl City is one person (Adam Young), this review doesn't seem valid.
