I feel like KMFDM has entered a holding pattern since Hau Ruck and is mostly reproducing the same sound over and over again, with only a handful of distinguishable variations on the theme (e.g. "People of the Lie" on Blitz). KMFDM has always had a signature sound, but it has shifted in the last decade or so and, in my opinion, has narrowed quite a lot and become even more formulaic. WTF sounds pretty much like another permutation of the sounds on Blitz and Tohuvabohu. The tracks don't stick in my head and the album is ultimately forgettable. It's good--hence the 3 stars--but forgettable.

The current band lineup just doesn't have the spark that made so many great albums in the 80s, 90s, and early 00s. And its not Lucia--amazing to see how many people unfairly single her out in comments for adding a "pop" sound. "Real Thing" and "Professional Killer" were awesome tracks on Hau Ruck and her influence on the band's sound has been great. The band itself just needs a few more creative minds contributing.

Again, its not a bad album. Just nothing new or all that interesting.
