Turtle Beach has delivered an amazing set of gaming headphones with the release of the Spectre Limited Edition. Whether you play multi-hour sessions of Call of Duty, spend a lot of time on video chat, or are looking for a great pair of headphones for listening to music and watching action movies, these are the headphones you always wanted but were afraid to hope for. A few main features to take note of:
- These headphones come with an instruction book. Okay, it's a booklet, but there are genuine printed instructions.
- I actually looked through the instructions (almost always against my personal code of ethics) because these headphones are configurable in a number of ways. Hook in your cell phone - or not. Use the boom mic - or not. Adjust audio from all sources as you see fit and then jack up the bass/treble to suit your listening needs.
- I ran these headphones from my iPhone, iPad and computer to test out straight audio. The sound was fantastic. The headphones really shine though when listening to music where bass matters. Jazz was lush, rock was powerful, and Eminem sounded like he was in the room with me and was really pissed off at something.
- The boom mic is adjustable which was very handy when talking online. A quick dial down was called for when some guys I was talking to said I sounded like I was screaming at them. Maybe I was screaming at the time, but I didn't want to come across like I ALWAYS scream.
- The headphones come with a VERY long cord, which came in handy.
- These are solidly made, great all around headphones which will make playing games, listening to music and watching movies all the more fun because the sound comes across to you the way in which the sound engineers and game designers intended.
