Although the risk vs. reward for this is rather high, I have yet to exercise on any other piece of equiptment that is as much fun. Don't get me wrong I don't think I have too many family members (that I like) that I would recommend getting on one of these. However, if you are serious about your balance training and have resonably good coordination and core stability this is one fun tool. I find it is far more functional than standing on an excercise ball if you are looking to simulate any board sport due to the neutral plantar foot position. Not to mention very durable since I have used it on hard wood, rubberized mats, and even grass. Probably not for those with acute or chronic injuries but good for developing elevated proprioception from you ankles to you neck.
