I have had these shoes in Black for 8 years now and am on the 3rd set of soles. They have gone back to factory every time for refurbishment and they are STILL the best looking shoes I own. I have tried many brands over the years and have 3 sets of Allen Edmonds and do not ever plan to buy another brand of dress shoe unless something changes. As for the price, you can pay less but you get less, and if you have them refurbished, over the long run you will fel they are worth EVERY penny.

How much does refurbishing them cost?

I don't know if this link will show up. If not, it's on the Allen Edmonds website as "Recrafting".
The range is from $50 ~ $150. I know that $150 sounds like a lot of money, but if you have good shoes that have molded to your feet perfectly, it may be worth your dollars. If you buy $100 pair of shoes every year, just go buy another pair or take it to your local cobbler for a cheaper service.
