This review is from: The Best Frosting Recipes For Cakes And Cupcakes - Dazzle Your Taste Buds! (Kindle Edition)
Nothing enhances cake or cupcakes like a well-thought out frosting. The Best Frosting Recipes For Cakes And Cupcakes - Dazzle Your Taste Buds! contains 31 recipes for what a first glance appear to be a wide variety of frostings. A closer look reveals that most of these are simply variations on either Cream Cheese Frosting or a standard American Buttercream.

Most of the recipes seem to have been gathered from various sources around the Internet. The Marshallow Fluff Frosting that Sarah Victor includes is straight from the Marshmallow Fluff website, Marshmallowfluff, where it is titled Fluff Seven Minute Frosting. Mango Cream Cheese Frosting is from Epic Portions, Salted Caramel Frosting from Baked Bree, Oreo Cookie Buttercream Frosting from Weekly Cupcake, and White Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting from Allrecipes.

Maple Brown Sugar Frosting is from Country Living. Unfortunately, when Sarah copied this recipe she called for dark brown sugar twice and forgot the butter. Either way, Grandma can assure you that no matter where this particular recipe came from the dark brown sugar will make it very gritty and 2 3/4 cup of confectioner's sugar is not nearly enough for 1/2 cup maple syrup.

There is a Table of Contents but it is neither interactive nor interfaced with the Kindle Navigation Menu so you are going to have to page your way through this. The book is rather poorly formatted. Sarah has managed to avoid the dreaded pages of extra white space. Instead virtually every recipe is cut awkwardly somewhere in the middle on both Kindle for Mac and the smaller Kindle for iPad format.

Perhaps the single most annoying thing that Grandma found was that not even once does Victor mention how many cupcakes any given recipe is supposed to frost. Since the recipes range from tiny things calling for a mere cup of confectioner's sugar (icing sugar to my non-US friends) to bakery-sized batches that start with an entire pound of cream cheese, having a bit of a clue would be most helpful. As it stands, your guess is as good as mine. It sure would be helpful to know whether I need to cook 4 or 44 strips of bacon for my 3 dozen cupcakes though!

Not reliable. Not Recommended.

But Grandma, copying and pasting is so much easier and faster!

Thank you for all the sleuthing you do to expose these frauds.

Bacon?!? In cupcake frosting. I'd fall off my chair but the seismologists at New Mexico Tech get so annoyed.

Grandma says:
I make maple glazed donuts now and then garnished with bacon and they are pretty good. The bacon doesn't go in the frosting though. I don't worry so much about falling off the chair. Collapsing the chair maybe. Can't imagine what the seismologists up at UVM would think.

Ah. Bacon and maple do so well together. I was probably in a chocolate rut.
