We read this book for my book club, and with all the rave reviews, I just knew it was a winner. In all actuality, it was just OK to me. I mean the turn off was that I never knew who was doing the talking in each chapter until I'd read through half of the chapter. The chapters would just start without saying whose thoughts they were. That made things confusing. I also felt that some of the characters were insignificant to the main storyline... and if they feature heavily in the sequel, I havent invested much into caring about them. Characters such as Nicole and Sabrina's bestfriend Yvette... I'm still trying to figure out what was their purpose... along with Chauncey and the girl Lisha who really never makes an appearance. That is not to say that the storyline wasnt a good one. It was. I just think it needed a little editing to hone in on the main points. I am mildly interested in who the baby daddy is... and I suppose I will have to wait for the sequel. Still havent decided if I will read it though. But if I do, it should be known that I'm definitely Team Rico. He was a good character. Milk on the other hand, ugh. The author did a great job at making you see how dispicable he was. All in all, this book is pretty good for a first book.
