Needles are an investment,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 6" Harmony Wood Double Pointed Knitting Needle Set (Office Product)
I was so excited to find this product. Like many Americans, our family has had to tighten our purse strings during these difficult economic times. Lantern Moon needles have always been my favorite, but are so expensive!
However, after using these Harmony Wood needles only a couple of times, the points began to splinter. You can imagine what that did to my yarn! If it had happened only once, I would not be writing this review, but over and over again the laminate peeled off and the wood splintered.
I gave this product two stars. One star is for the idea of a packaged set of sock needles, and one star is for the bright, variegated colors and the fact that they included six needles in each size.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product. If you buy cheap, you get cheap. Look at knitting needles as an investment, or even go to your local megacraft store and buy Susan Bates' double-pointed needles.

The company has great customer service. I have a set and a couple of the needles started to splinter and they sent me a new set, and I didn't even have to return the bad one. I agree, there are some problems with Harmony needles, but with a lifetime warrantee, I'm willing to use them. They are wonderful!

It is extremely unusual for the points of these to lose their lamination, let alone start splitting. Anara is absolutely correct, Knit Picks has fabulous customer service and stands by their products - but don't abuse them and expect them to stand up to it, they are wood after all, not metal or plastic!
