Bose Radio/CD 3,
This review is from: Bose Wave Music System III (Electronics)
I am and have been a hi-fi geek of sorts for over 50 years. I have a lot of expensive equipment including top of the line speakers. The sound quality of the FM radio and CD's is unbelievable for such a small package. Unless you have a giant room this should make most anyone happy with the sound. It can drive you out of the room with its power as a matter of fact. Maybe the younger generation want more power and bigger sound but if you are an average person you are going to be very surprised. To equal the sound of this little package you could easily spend $1500 on speakers, amplifier, CD player, radio, etc. You then would need a large cabinet to place them in. I admit this unit is expensive for its size but when you compare it to your other options maybe not. If you buy it I suggest you purchase the upgraded remote which is back-lite and larger and much easier to use. I think it was $39. Also purchase the $10 FM Antenna which they really should give you. In fact they did give me one when I called. All you do is plug it in, read the instructions and you are in business. I have decided to add the 3 CD changer that you can buy that goes with this radio otherwise you have to change the CD to often. It is made to sit under the radio/cd so it looks like it is part of it. Bose has managed to keep the price on its new products up over the years so do not look much for any discounts. This is an expensive 5 star product in my mind and ear. If you have the $$$ then buy it you will likely be very surprised. It has one input jack. If you have the extra CD changer it also provides 2-3 inputs for other equipment. It also functions as a two stage alarm clock using music. It is sort of amazing that such a small unit can produce such bass. It is not going to knock your ears off like a big bass speaker will but it is still amazing.

I. Bell says:
You can buy this rather cheaply compared with here in England, UK. Bose charges us £599 ($1,000+) for the Wave III with Dab. £499 for the Radio only version.
