Terrible DVD Transfer,
This review is from: The Quiet Man (Collector's Edition) (DVD)
i hate giving a classic a 1 star rating. the movie is nothing less than 5. but the dvd transfer is pathetic. i've seen better 2nd generation VHS to DVD transfers than this. what was the distributor thinking when they allowed this to be distributed to the public?? did they even bother to review the final product before its release? there's no excuse for this with todays movie restoration technology. hopefully we will see this movie re-released by a company who cares about art.

I agree. This is a terrible transfer. Didn't notice it until I got a better monitor. It's the worst transfer I've ever seen... garish color and blurry as can be.

This film is indeed a splendid classic. I would buy it in a heartbeat if it weren't for the poor transfer.
Thanks so much for the warning!!!

The Quiet Man (Collector's Edition)'
One of the biggest problems with releasing multiple versions of the same movie is that it's virtually impossible to tell the quality of the movie before you purchase. It doesn't help that Amazon does not seperate the reviews. When we purchase DVD's that are terrible we need ro list the ASIN and any other numbers that may help others. ASIN: B00006JMRD has decent picture and sound quality.
