Best Swan Song Release Ever,
This review is from: Haste the Day Vs Haste the Day (Audio CD)
I've been to about 10 Haste the Day shows, maybe more (lost count after 8), and I have to say this was the craziest Haste The Day show I can remember. The atmosphere was just so electric that night everybody was do something crazy, either crowd surfing, hanging off the beams or jumping off the stage (it could've been that it was really hot out that night). Knowing that the band is done and over with this can't get any better for a concert DVD because everybody that was in the band at one point plays and they play all the staples (well that's debatable, but they play a lot of them). It was really smart of the guys to release this a CD too and not just a DVD because they never released anything live before and it's always good to leave the fans with some live material to listen too. And the tracks sound amazing, it's like getting punched in the mouth.
Later on in life when I look back on Haste The Day, they will always mean my youth. Not because they were a band I listened to in that time but because I went to high school with these guy. I can still picture all the xeroxed flyers posted all over school for their shows. These guys were the first hardcore/metalcore (whatever you want to label them) music I ever listened to. Though it wan't until Burning Bridges came out that I fell in love with them. I will always have that association of them with my late high school and college years. It was sad the day it was announced that Jimmy was leaving and even sadder the day they announced they were done. And that's what makes this so good because Jimmy's back with old lineup and it lets the fans see their last great show. This CD/DVD is a great way for me and many other fans to remember what it's like to be at one of the shows at any point of their exsitance.
