As the book's name suggests a large part of the book is for beginners. Not only in PHP, but also in programming. I wish the authors included a special section for experienced programmers where they would briefly explain the differences between C++ (or similar) and PHP. For example, mention only PHP specialties like auto loading, constructor/destructor and serialization syntax and leave stuff like general OOP discussion for other sections which experienced developers could skip. It wasn't too hard to briefly review Part II, so it's still 5 stars for me. One last thing: I'm not sure why the writers didn't mention frameworks like Yii, Zend or CodeIgniter. I think it's essential to include the basics of one framework (my choice is Yii).
