His imagination and writings continue to inspire me. Just read it and let it wash over you.
The wonderfully archaic way Clarke introduces the early stories is very representative of the style required in the early days of science fiction, when the reader had to be coaxed into the story, as "willful suspension of disbelief" was not yet popularly accepted. Clarke does it wonderfully, and the stories that follow these sometimes banal openings were many years (or centuries?) ahead of their time. A great read.
