Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic VIERA TY-ER3D4MU Active Shutter 3D Eyewear (for 2012 and 2013 Panasonic VIERA 3D TVs) (Electronics)
The 1-star reviews on here were helpful for me to ensure I was doing thorough research. Compatibility seems to be an issue for some; however, you can download your TV's owner's manual and verify before your purchase. If in doubt, you can always call Panasonic. I turn my 3D glasses on, an icon appears on the TV indicating a bluetooth connection, the movie starts, and the 3D "awe" begins...
For the specific review on the glasses, easily 5-stars for the money (and a significant discount from Best Buy's price tag). They're very comfortable over my prescription glasses and the 3D view is incredible. What more can you say?
The bluetooth connection is solid, but does revert to "standby" mode quickly if there's no 3D signal (to save battery life, I presume). I appreciate the battery-saving feature. I did purchase a plug-in adapter from Amazon to charge 4 USB devices (i.e., my 4 3D pairs of glasses) from one outlet to keep my glasses charged without a lot of cord clutter.
Overall, the Panasonic GT50 series 3D HDTV and active-shutter glasses deliver a stunning 3D experience. I tested the system with a "3D Aquarium" blu-ray, which honestly made it appear that I had a 60" wide x 5' deep aquarium recessed into my wall. I'm glad I waited for the 3D technology to mature, and it seems the future is here.
