4.0 out of 5 stars Good for what it's made for,, September 10, 2011

This review is from: Canon Powershot A2200 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom (Red) (Electronics)
Well here's my story,
I am a 13 year-old kid that has been in to photography for quite some time now so I figured I am a good enogh photographer to get a DSLR. But that takes money, and money takes time.
So I decided to save up some money but still I wanted a camera. So I found this.
Now it's not something that a pro would use, but what I like about it is that if you're looking to become pro, you can learn about iso and white balance while you can also play with the fun art filters and scene modes.
I find the discrete mode very good if you want to take pictures of sleeping baby's and etc. The toy camera mode is great for vintage style photography.
One thing that bugs me is that in low lighting the camera doesnt react well.

I just save money from birthdays and stuff, and if most 13 year oold's can't write a review for something then must be pretty smart.

This didn't sound to me like a "casual" purchase for him at all -- it sounded to me like he's enough into photography to want a decent camera. So he bought one with the money he'd already saved, and now he'll start saving again for the camera he really wants. I second the "light up on the lad" comment left by L. Green. Incidentally, some people would say the name "Thomas Jefferson" sounds fake. Regarding the review, I found it helpful, though I would've appreciated more detail about what he meant by "the camera doesn't respond well in low light." In what way? Y. Farhi, thanks for taking the time to review this camera. Good luck with your photography...

Hey Tom, if it is any consolation to you, I actually thought your review was interesting and humorous. :-) I hadn't actually thought about it but you could be right. Either way, still quite funny.

Y, I don't know if English is your first language, but it's babies, not baby's, and there should be an apostrophe in doesn't.

Something that might encourage you is check out KEHdotCOM, you can buy older model DSLR cameras for under $200. If you go with Excellent to Excellent + you can find one that looks brand new. I bought my 8 year son who likes to take pictures one from there and a decent lens from here. Keep saving and good luck!

TJ, i think you are out of touch with what it means to be 13. only 3 years away from driving, and only 5 years away from being able to leave home and join the army.
