(Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book as part of the O'Reilly Blogger Program)

If you have plans to take the MCTS 70-516 exam, you'd be making a smart move by picking up this book. It covers a lot of information about data access technologies in version 4 of the Framework. While not a perfect book - none is - it is definitely an asset to one who wants to gain knowledge about LINQ to SQL and the Entity Framework and all the other things covered. While I haven't had need to use OData at the 9-5, the training kit gave me a pretty good understanding of it. I'll be taking the exam soon and think I'm going to be quite ready for it due in part to working my way through the exercises in this book.

One of the things I particularly like about the book is the layout and the estimates of the time it will take for each lesson. Being someone who has to budget his time, knowing that it'll take approximately 30 minutes to work through a lesson is nice. I can schedule time to work through the lesson easily rather than wondering how long it'll take me. There are some typos of course and some other minor nits but no show stoppers. Give it a try!
