This review is from: Rescue (Audio CD)
This album was my first introduction to this group - and Keith Lancaster. I bought it about ten years ago, without ever having heard a note from the group, and it was the best investment I ever made. The title track alone - RESCUE - will justify the cost of this CD.
By my best guess, there are as many as 12 or 13 distinct vocal parts on any song on the album. Not only is the music precision-tuned with incredible harmonies and a great variety of vocal parts, but the message in each and every song rings greater than any of the chords. I have been humbled and comforted over and over by this album.
The music and words of this CD started me on a journey. I am still finding my way along the path. But at every crossroad, every corner, and every impass along the way, all I have had to do is remember:
Lord, you know everything I've done Every thoughtless word, you know every one And Lord, you give, not what I am due but mercy....you come to my rescue...
Every hair on my arms rises, and I get a wave of chills every time those words come to mind. They have comforted me in bad times. They have humbled me when I've been too bold. And they have reminded me that when life's entanglements get too big for me, there is only one place to turn.
You will not be sorry for buying this CD.
