5.0 out of 5 stars Great Kit for the price, May 23, 2012
This review is from: Square Perfect 1002 Sp160 Variable Power Professional Studio Flash Set Photography Studio Kit with Photo Lighting Strobes Stands (Electronics)
SP160B Studio Light Kit by Square Perfect

First of all, let me say this:
I read some of the negative comments on this product and the people who wrote them obviously don't know what they are talking about.

Professional Strobe light kits can cost 2500-3000$ or more.
Would you expect a kit that cost a third of that to be in the same quality/performance? Please...
Yes the kit could be better, but for the cost, it is AWESOME!

Second, a guy did not know how to use the flash, so it put it in continuous light and he complained he blew it... Really???

So, again, for the price is a great product.

Yes I did have an issue with one light that stopped working after 2 shoots, but I contacted the company, spoke with a very nice representative, got a RMA, new product shipped to me free of charge. I just had to pay the shipping of the old one.

I am very pleased with the product: I have been using this for 3+ years and doing probably 120 photoshoots.

The only issue that I had is the heating of the strobes.
So you have to keep the modeling light off as much as you can.
Or give it some time to cool off once in a while (I do that during makeup or clothing change).

And the RF receiver a times is a little 'deaf' so you have to make sure it is plugged all the way and oriented well.

I would buy this again and again.
Thank you Square Perfect and thank you Discount Tommy!

My light burned up the first time I plugged it in. I hadn't even used it. So, it's not just because some people don't know how to use them. Some of these items are definitely defective and for a refund I would have had to send back the whole kit. I kept the burned up light instead. I would not recommend this product. It sounds like it is hit or miss and when you have clients coming...you need a reliable light. Just saying.
