A decent, quick read,
This review is from: The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor (Hardcover)
As other reviewers have noted, the Governor's background is not a particularly groundbreaking tale--nor is the writing style impressive. If it had been a standalone novel instead of a component of the Walking Dead franchise, I might have read a few pages and then put it down. However, because I was curious to see how the story connected to what I've read in the comics (which I loved) I ended up finishing it in a few hours. I'm on the fence about purchasing the next novel in the series when it is released but it is highly unlikely that I would seek out any of Jay Bonansinga's other work if this is a representative sample.
