3.0 out of 5 stars Metal With A Rockabilly Sound, September 9, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Attention Deficit Domination (Audio CD)
I didn't think that I would like this CD because it is metal and since I am in my 70s, metal is definitely a generational gap. But guess what? It was listenable and to a certain extent enjoyable? Why? Possibly because it is slow metal and also due to the fact it has a 50s rockabilly feel to it. It brought back memories of the early Elvis Sun recordings. At times it was frantic as in "That's All Right Mama" and at times it had a doomsday sound like that of "Heartbreak Hotel". Is it my favorite HanK III CD? No! But it is delightfully different.

Guess what?? And this album blew my mind because of it...ADD and Hank/Shelton sounds just like...get this...PRIME BLACK SABBATH...I love how he has multiple styles and holds nothing back because of it...hardcore alt/neotrad country, country punk, metal, punk, whatever...when I read ADD was "slow metal/doom metal", I was cool with that...I expected Alice in Chains, Melvins and Kyuss, but my gosh, ADD is the great lost Black Sabbath album!!! Eddie Trunk and his pals on VH1 Classic's That Metal Show GOTTA hear this album PRONTO!! And have on Hank III as a guest to boot!!
