Tame the Beast tells the story of Clara, a small town girl with dreams of a big life, who takes a full ride scholarship to Beaumont University.
There she meets Adam Beaumont, son of the dean and scion of the family that started the university. He's also a notorious player. In trouble for his partying and womanizing, his mother, the dean is making him repeat classes from the semester before. Attracted to Clara, but on a short leash, he comes up with the perfect plan to get closer to Clara and appease his mother at the same time--convince Clara to be his tutor.
Clara finds herself attracted to Adam's charm and good looks, but turned off by his legions of girls. But the more time she spends with him, the more her attraction grows.
This is a great debut from a new author. Fans of the beauty and the beast fairy tale can recognize the story, but it's a new enough take that it doesn't feel old or recycled. The attraction and growing relationship between Adam and Clara moves at a believable pace, and the love scenes are sensual and hot without being overly explicit.
Lovers of fairy tell retellings, college romance, and bad boys reformed should give this a read!
