This is one heck of a good hair dryer. The hair dryer is light weight, incredibly well balanced, quiet, and a rich beautiful red color.
Settings are more than I imagined - each air speed (high and low) really has 4 temperature settings - Cold, Cool, Warm, and Hot. The upper switch has three temperature settings, cool - a pretty warm setting around 100 degrees, Warm - a middle of the road at about 140 degrees, and Hot - very fast drying at about 220 degrees. Whenever the blue Cold button is held down, the temperature drops to almost room temperature (there is still a little tiny bit of warming). Combine that with the air speed and the dryer has eight temperature settings (high speed is slightly hotter than low).
Great temperature control is combined with quiet operation. This is a surprisingly quiet hair dryer, the tone is not high pitched and piercing like most hair dryers. This has a good middle sound that is not nearly as loud as other hair dryers.
The balance is another surprise. BaByliss has positioned the motor at exactly the center of the dryer, the natural gyro scoping of the fan tends to hold the dryer in the same orientation. It is hard to explain, but it feels like the dryer helps out with aiming.
The finish is another interesting thing. The color is a deep three dimensional rich red. The photograph does a good job capturing what this looks like in real life. The finish feels thick and kind of grippy, a good feel in the hand.
The concentrator attachment is difficult to snap on. This is probably a good thing, once it is on the hair dryer, it is not coming off. The concentrator is a nice shape, just the right amount of direction to allow more precise drying.
The switches take a little getting used to. They are positioned just below my fingers and there is a slight tendency to change the settings. Shifting my finger up or down off the switch solved that problem.
The cord is super long, nine feet. The plug is compact. Like all hair dryers there is a GFIC on the end of the cord, the kind of big box with Reset and Test buttons on it. The plug exactly covers two outlets, or it is the exact width of a standard outlet. This was critical for me; we have a shelf just below the bathroom outlet leaving not much space for any wall warts. This plug fits perfectly; it was the perfect solution for my situation.
Overall, this is a wonderful hair dryer. It works well, heats quickly, is light weight, and is on the quiet side. Although it is a bit more expensive than other hair dryers, I think it is worth the premium price.
