5.0 out of 5 stars Great price, January 17, 2012
This review is from: Bond 50: The Complete 22 Film Collection [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
This review is about the item and its value. To put it simply, if you are going to buy the entire series of James Bond movies and you have a Blu-ray player, this is the bargain to buy. I have been picking the movies up individually from Amazon for between $9.49 to $9.99 each. A great deal. However, if I had known about this offer, I would have gone for the entire collection. 22 movies for $200.00 comes to about $9.10 each!

Each of the individual movies I have seen so far makes the Blu-Ray upgrade well worth it. The video quality of each is un-surpassed. Details, only guessed at, are impressive. The audio of each is, also, incredible. Each has the DTS HD Master 5.1 plus the original Mono or Dolby Surround soundtrack (there is a depth to Shirley Bassey's "Moonraker" openning that I found almost...moving).

I have about a dozen of the individually released movies. If you can't wait, maybe Amazon will have the others for the price mentioned above. If you CAN wait, this set is the best deal and well worth it.

...... Mr. Gill ..... is absolutely right ...... a complete bargain .... I Bought the "other complete" set boxes that were release a couple of years ago ..... WITH EXCELLENT bonus + additional features .... but at a very high price at my local store ( TOWER RECORS ) .... now called ENTERTAINMENT STORE ..... and because they were an " import " they charged a lot .... but still they where worth it .... ´cause the state of the art RE - MASTERIZATION .... no doubt this is a total bargain ´cause its´HD FORMAT .

Well, not the greatest price...

As I commented this before...
FYI: I just bought (pre-ordered on Jan. 13th, 2012) this same set from the Amazon UK site, priced at £89.99GBP ($138.58USD). Since I live in the USA, I don't have to pay the VAT charges (included in Amazon's price). For me, this brings the price down to £74.99GBP ($115.48USD) + £3.08GBP ($4.74USD) Shipping.
Total US Dollars I paid for this set is... $120.22! ...That's about $5.46 per movie (22 films) ...and don't forget to add all the extra features into that too!!!

BUT BEWARE... Most Blu-ray disc are region coded (US is region 'A', UK is region 'B'). So you will have to have a multi-region DVD/Blu-ray player to play them (like I do) if the disc are not region free!!!!!!!!

First off, no one knows what the actual price will be at release nor the quality or content. Jumping the gun and reviewing a product months before release does no one any good. You haven't touched the product and yet you reviewed it? Take this and the other early "reviews" for what they are worth, nothing, since not one person has seen this product in person. These are just opinions based on what has been released in statements, not reviews of the actual product.

I too was surprised when the price came down to 74.99GBP and they charged me only 4.99GBP to ship it from UK to India. SO I placed the order considering the price mentioned on the Amazon USA site.

If you even bothered to read my post, you would see that I was referring to the apparent value involved in purchasing the complete set. If you pre-order with Amazon, that price would have been locked in. Try reading the review before assuming you know what you are communicating.

Colonel Mike says:
Actually, Glen, I think that His Highness Junior was also mistaken concerning whether you have viewed the Blu-ray Discs ("since not one person has seen this product in person"). I believe you ARE in a position to render an opinion on their quality, since you clearly stated that you have previuosly purchased [several] of the BDs individually. Junior obviously did NOT read your excellent-and-informed comments before bloviatng! Thanks again for your insight....

Thank you for your kind comments. As to "Junior", there's usually one in every crowd. Thank you, again.
