Raven Queen - Ever After Rebel,
As a collector of Disney, Disney Villains, fairytale, fashion and MH dolls I am very excited about the Ever After High dolls. All of the Ever After High dolls are children of famous fairytale characters and are expected to fulfill their destiny by assuming their parents role in the fairytale world. Raven is the daughter of the Evil Queen and is not very interested in becoming an evil sorceress. Because of her desire to "stay true" to herself she has disrupted the normal events of Ever After High by wishing to choose her own path and has become the leader of the Ever After Rebels.
Raven's colors are purple, black and silver. She has violet eyes with purple eye makeup and berry colored lips. Raven has a widow's peak and black hair with large purple streaks by her face that are swept up and back from her face. She is wearing a very complicated dress - around her neck the dress has a high silver collar (of molded plastic) that also covers her shoulders, and the collar is made to look like it is made of lace and feathers with a purple gem brooch. The bodice of her dress is metallic black with a purple/teal iridescence. The top of her skirt is silky ombre purple with a black filigree and fishnet pattern. The lower part of her skirt is made of transparent ruffles in two shades of purple. She is also wearing a tiny pair of fishnet stockings.
Raven's accessories include a belt, a silver bracelet attached to a purple ring, black and silver feather and chain high heeled shoes and a handbag that features a tiny magic mirror. Raven comes with a key shaped hairbrush, EAH themed doll stand and story/bookmark. The EAH dolls are packaged to look like they are part of a storybook volume, and the back of the box includes character information.
The Ever After High dolls have oversized rounded heads and are fully jointed for posing and display. (I have read some negative comments on the head size online, but Blythe and Pullip collectors will love the look). As of this writing, the dolls are only available for purchase at Justice stores, but should be widely released in the near future. Besides Raven Queen, other characters that have been released in the line so far include Madeline Hatter (Rebel), Apple White (Royal) and Briar Beauty (Royal). I love the premise for Ever After High, and I like the idea of storybook/princess dolls that have unique stories and are breaking out of the mold. These dolls are a good quality, affordable fashion doll that will shine in any doll collection. I can't wait to see the future dolls and fashions for Ever After High.
