I bought this book at full price after reading the first few chapters on my Kindle. I really like the show "Mad Men" but you don't have to like the show to enjoy this book. I didn't know the name Richard Kirshenbaum before - but I sure know some of the work he created. His writing style is effortless, and I read the whole book over a couple of days. His writing created an intimate feel toward the advertising business that kept me going throughout the whole book; although I have to admit that by the end of it - I was getting a little sick of his boastfullness(translate:amazing self-confidence). That said, he wrote about both his own successes and failures, both in his early life and in his business life. His book is very inspiring - he worked hard for his success. He clearly had an early talent for advertising, and he used what he knew and believed in himself and made lots of money. I enjoyed reading about the business from the inside - and hearing about the clients and the business partners. This book isn't an extension of the show "Mad Men" as much as it is an insider tale of how interesting and lucrative it can be to create products that the people will love and want, even before they knew they wanted it. Highly recommend this book - there is something for everyone. If you have the chance to get this book at the daily deal price - don't hesitate!!
