1.0 out of 5 stars Boooo! to the new 569, April 12, 2011
This review is from: Levi's Men's 569 Loose Straight-Leg Jean (Apparel)
Anyone who is a long time fan of the levi's 569 beware. Levi's have decided to completely change the cut of this jean and not change the number, so what used to be the 569 is very different from what they are selling now. They are a great deal tighter in the seat and thigh, so the relaxed fit is not nearly as generous. Also they are much lower at the waist almost making them low cut jeans.. For some, this may be exactly what you want, but for those who are long time buyers of this style expect to be disappointed. Shame on levis for pulling the switch. I think if you change the style you should change the number so people know what they are getting. Unfair and confusing of them to keep the number but not they style. I am shipping mine back immediately.

I have noticed the same thing! I asked about this at an outlet and they acted like I was crazy, but for someone who has been buying 569s for over 10 years, the change is obvious and it sucks. I say they should use a new number for the new cut, and bring back the old 569. Until they do, I will be searching for my new favorite jeans.

Same here! I've been trying to stay loyal to Levi's because I use to be able to walk in to a store, grab a pair of my size off the rack and buy them without trying them on. Not so anymore. I like to think I'm relatively average build, little over weight for my tastes but not huge. Now I feel like I'm cross between Ron Jeremy and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the crotch area.

Has anyone found a pair of similar jeans?

I noticed too. Hate em. Constantly pulling them up. Was hoping the first pair was a fluke, but no.

Agree with this review. I ordered these for my husband reading every detail from a pair of jeans has worn so long they have holes in them. Recieved the new jeans and they are totally differnt. The material is so thin it feels like paper and he noted that they were a lower rise than his older jeans. I wish if Levi's was going to change it they would have changed the # too so you don't expect them to be the same 569 as before.

I checked a few different stores, and Fleet Farm's Field N' Forest jeans are VERY similar. The biggest difference is the price - only $11 per pair! The quality seems to be good as well.

I went to MANY stores and every brand has now switc hed to the tight look.

Try the "Seth" brand from the Buckle. They are $60 which sucks but they fit me like the old 569's.

I ultimately choose a pair of Wrangler Rugged Wear jeans, relaxed fit, and couldn't be happier. It's been too long since I've had a properly fitting pair of 569's so I can't remember if they are an identical match, however they are comfortable, and seem to be built to last all for around $30. I don't see me buying another pair of Levi's for a long time....
