A Remake That Needs To Be Remade,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Amazing Spider-Man (Amazon Video)
Too much conversation and not enough action. I usually like most effort put into a movie that gives background to the characters. This was too much to get to the point.
Without telling the movie. I miss Mary J. I loved the other Spiderman movies with Tobey Maguire. This should have not been a beginning but a continuation. And did I say I missed Mary J? Stick to the actor that worked.
I'm done. I am starting to get angry typing this review. What a gigantic waste of money...

Hahaha. Kirsten Dunst was the worst part about the previous trilogy. Spiderman 3 was terrible. There was no real chemistry between Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. While I enjoyed Spiderman 1 and 2, this one was way more true to the comic books. You must not be very familiar with them - in the original comic books, Peter Parker's first love was Gwen Stacey, not Mary Jane. Also, he creates the artifical webbing..it doesn't come out of his wrists after being naturally produced by his body. While not a bad idea, it's Raimi's version..not from the comic books. This movie was way more realistic in that the characters were way more believable. Uncle Ben dies at the beginning of the movie in Spiderman...there is not a lot of development of Peter and Uncle Ben's relationship. In the Amazing Spiderman, they develop that relationship so as a viewer you actually care when Uncle Ben dies. It was mildly sad in the original first movie, but the "father-son" aspect of their relationship since he was raised for many years by his Uncle was not established at all. This movie does a much better job of characterization overall.

I thank you for being so informative. All you have stated is true. I guess I got carried away with alternative versions. Some of the original versions were boring to me but I have been unfair towards the new comic readers who would need more of the true versions.
