3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price, May 7, 2011

This review is from: Pyle PLDN74BTI Double DIN TFT Touchscreen, 7-Inch (Discontinued by Manufacturer) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The LCD screen is pretty dim, but it's okay quality outside of any sunlight. The Bluetooth works surprisingly well. I paired my Nexus One to it and was streaming Pandora in under a min, and it pairs every time I get in range. The DVD works well also. If you have a Ford, you "will" need an antenna adapter. The research I did said you wouldn't, but... For under $200.00 you really can't beat it, so that's why I'm not complaining; however, I would have given it four stars if the screen wasn't so dim. I'm hoping I just didn't hook up the dimmer wire properly or something, so I'm going to have a professional take a look at it when I go pick up my antenna adapter just to make sure.

Any update on the screen brightness?

Now that I finally have mine installed, I feel the screen is very bright. In the settings I found out that, I think it was under the hardware section, where it is labeled "pic" I think, if you press that word, on the screen below a brightness, contrast, and color option will pop on one at a time. You can then choose the right or left arrow next to the word "pic" to adjust each of these settings up or down to make your screen brighter or darker. I have to touch the night icon in the upper right corner of the screen during night driving to turn the screen off because of it's vivid brightness. Otherwise it does become annoying after a while if left on, and I have turned the contrast and brightness both below 50 on my unit. Hope this helps.

I am having the same problem with brightness. I cannot find that option on the radio at all. I have been through all of the touchable menus that I could find. It is way too bright at night and way too dark during the day. Could you please give some direction where in the radio you found that option.
