Because of the multinational negotiations now underway with Iran, this book, published last year, has become extremely relevant to peace in the Middle East - and the world. In one sense, this book is a primer on the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Middle East, because it includes a history of facts and events, religious issues, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In a larger sense, however, the author constructs a framework on which the reader can construct an understanding of the traps and deceptions created by Iran that could lead, and probably will lead, to the dragging out of current negotiations and the ultimate creation of a Persian nuclear weapon. The author overlooks nothing, and in arcane areas like the relationship between Shia and Sunni he patiently explains what the media does not tell us, and what Iran does not want us to know. This comprehensive "bible" belongs in every American citizen's library so that they will understand the reasons why they must demand that their government representatives resist the temptation to believe the new political initiatives by Tehran and, thus, be hoodwinked into easing sanctions and allowing Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, to build atomic bombs. This important book deserves an index and footnotes, and the lack of those aids is the only reason I give it four stars instead of five stars. Nevertheless, do not be put off and, instead, read this book as soon as possible.Iran Covenant
