I've been studying disasters of all types for a while now and have come to the conclusion that the Lone Wolf Prepper is in for a rude awakening. Being alone might come in handy at the initial stages of a grid-down situation, long term is going to be darn near impossible. Putting a community of like minded people together (even if its just family) is going to be of utmost importance but where does one begin? Waiting until shtf is going to create chaos on top of chaos.
One thing I appreciate about Micheal's book is it gives you REAL information on how to create a group NOW and start to prepare NOW instead of waiting until its essentially going to be extremely hard to remain calm, cool and collected enough to make any impact. There is enough "sample" or "examples" in the book to get even the most novice person headed in the right direction in creating a community that will REACT when needed.
As a mother, I also appreciate the need to "get our children home" as a priority in any kind of grid-down. Once the kids are home safe, it will be much easier for the elders to concentrate on what needs to get done. His book also gives linguistics on assigning duties to every member of your community, even the children!
Want reasons to get this rolling? It's in the book ~ plenty of Congressional information from our government to show anyone the reasons why we need to take this into our own hands and not rely upon our government to come save us. Reality is, they won't be there. They have proven THAT time and time again. Become your own FEMA, pull your resources and built a community of multifaceted individuals, do what you need to do to protect your family and friends. This book is a great start in that direction!
