This review is from: Therm-a-Rest Compack Chair (Sports)
I had been using the older version of this chair for about 15 years and I would not consider backpacking without it. It's just too light to be a weigh weenie about considering leaving it home because of the invaluable comfort you get from it. When I upgraded my camp chair to the new ultra light version I also upgraded my sleeping pad from a foam pad to the full length ProLite, (I had to make up for the weight savings from my old chair). The highly rounded edges on the ProLite make setting up the chair a breeze, and it's super comfortable once set up. My wife has the ProLite Plus which is a bit thicker and the edges are not as rounded and setting up the chair requires that you pay attention while you do it or you will get in a fight with your camp chair.
The very first day I used my chair an over zealous fire tender (there's one in every crowd) accidentally tossed a coal that bounced onto my chair. The bad news is it burnt a hole in my chair, the good news is it didn't burn my new thermarest. I've used the chair about 15 times with the centimeter sized hole in it and it has not been an issue. I'll patch it once it's too hot to camp.
Buy this chair, you will be happy you did, or buy two and carry both, then sell it to a jealous campmate at an inflated price as you lounge comfortably after a long hike.
